Cross Docking System
A logistics practice in which goods or materials are transferred directly from a distribution center or sorting facility immediately onto outbound modes of transportation, utilizing little to no storage time in between. The result of this method leads to the reduction of levels of inventory and costs of operation, as well as a throughput increase.
