Whistleblower

Individuals who inform the public or authoritative figures about acts of misconduct, including dishonesty or illegal activities that may occur within a governmental, public, or private place. These acts of misconducts are deemed as threats to the interest of the public, safety, rules, laws, health, honest business, or regulation. Despite the fact that whistleblowers are protected by the 1863 False Claims Act (which was revised in 1986), they face flack from those they have accused or by other organizations.
