On-Call Employees

These types of employees are hired with the understanding that their employment is on an intermittent basis typically under special circumstances. For example, this type of employee would be one who would fill in for another staff member who is absent, when an extra hand is needed at any given time, when a company has a peak period, or to work special events. These employees are frequently paid a different (often lesser) amount and are not provided the same, if any, benefits in comparison to permanent staff.
