Just-In-Time (JIT)

Just-in-time (JIT) refers to an effective form of goods production and disribution that works to streamline manufacturing and transportation costs, thus enabling a higher revenue for the a firm. The precise timing and details are regulated by a system referred to as Kanban, which allows the company to know what, how much, and when to produce their goods. Many large firms have now adopted or adapted to the JIT method of production as a means of cutting inventory, simplifying shipping, and increasing revenue.
