Dwell time

1. The number of days that a container takes to change status. The shorter the dwell time, the more efficient the container utilization. 2. The time cargo remains in a terminal\'s in-transit storage area while awaiting shipment by clearance transportation. 3. A study of over 65,000 service members found that longer periods at home between deployments reduced the incidence of post traumatic stress disorder.
