Slowdown
An action in which employees continue to perform their duties, but reduce their productivity. Workers oftentimes perform a slowdown as a prelude, or an alternative to a strike, in attempts to pressure management into giving in to the workers’ demands, while not officially going on strike (which is grounds for dismissal at some companies). Workers can still be fired for participating in a slowdown on the grounds of unproductive output.
