General Strike

A refusal to continue to provide labor for an employer made by a significant amount of workers. This noncompliance of labor is usually a response to poor working conditions, mistreatment, low wages and/or the lack of quality benefits provided to workers in the labor force. Oftentimes, general strikes aspire for political and economic changes. Although general strikes may begin within the work-field it often gains support from individuals and communities outside the workforce.
