Excelsior List

An excelsior list is a document that contains the names and addresses of all eligible employees in a union. The employer usually files this list within seven days of a union election held by the National Labor Relations Board. When an election is held, it is usually for those engaged in an organizing campaign to start a new union. Thirty percent of employees must sign a petition before a union is admitted to an excelsior list, in order to ensure that they have enough support to be founded and functional.
